All You Need to Know About Parousia
Parousia is a Greek word which means “coming” or “presence”. The word parousia is a concept that is used in theology. Parousia is used to refer to a time when Jesus Christ will come on earth for the second time. He will be coming to judge the living and the dead.
Jesus will come back soon. However, there is no one who knows the exact time that he shall come; not even the son or the angel in heaven (?Mark 13:32) . This means that Jesus may come back in the in the next second, day, month or decade. What this means is that, as a faithful Christian you should be prepared at all the time. Focus on the God because Satan is always ready to divert your attention on the second coming of Christ.
Some people do wonder why Jesus is taking long to come back. He is doing this to give human being an opportunity to change their wicked way through repentance. According to the book of 2peter3:8-9, God says that one thousand years are like a day to him. People should there know that god is firm about parousia.
Jesus will back the same way that he departed to heaven after resurrection. According to the book of acts 1: 9-11, Jesus was taken up and received by the cloud. Two men in white clothing stood by him while ascending. The two men told the disciples that Jesus shall return in the same manner that he left. During the second coming, Jesus will be accompanied by angels. The angels will come in loud trumpet to gather all those who have died (Mathew 16: 27)
All people will resurrect during the second coming. It is important to note that Jesus’ second coming will be terminal. This means after the second coming he will not come again. The righteous dead will be taken to heaven alongside with the righteous living (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). Unfortunately, the wicked will be unlucky. The bible says that they will call rocks and hills to fall on them because they shall be ashamed to look on the face of the lord. Due to disobedience to the gospel of Christ, the sinners will be destroyed with everlasting destruction (2 Thessalonians 1:7-10). At the moment of parousia, the mortal body will be transformed into immortal body. This means there will be no more deaths (Corinthians 15:52-53)
Finally it is important to note that Christ will be the judge, (2 Cor. 5:10). All people who have ever lived will have to be judged. Human beings will be judged according to the law of god under which they lived. The culpability will be judged based on the humans’ ability and the pattern of obedience and disobedience. Unfortunately, after the judgment there will be no post-judgment redemption. The judgment will never be revoked.
Jesus is coming back because of many reason. He will come back to reward the faithful people and also to bring heaven with him (Revelation 22:12). According to Mathew 25: 34, God will call people who shall be on his right side, to come and inherit the kingdom of heaven that has been prepared from the foundation of the world.
